Returning back to work after having time off for 10 days for the holidays has been a rough re-entry. I had so much fun reading and exploring the book blog world. I'm just finding these last two weeks that this new world doesn't fit exceptionally well into my normal reality. After being on a computer all day at work I just really don't have much desire to be on the computer when I get home. I just want to chill and read.
The good news is that I haven't totally fallen off a log. I have been reading. I finished "If I Perish" on Wednesday night and blew through "What I Saw and How I Lied" over this weekend. I'm going to try to publish reviews this week on those two books.
I'm going to start reading one of the books from the challenge "Books I Want to Read Before I Die." I've chosen "Gone With the Wind" as the first one for 2010. I was a bit shocked when I checked the book out of the library and saw that it was over 1,000 pages long. And we all thought Stephenie Meyer was a bit long winded at times! I'm encouraged though because my friend Terri said that she's read "Gone With the Wind" several times and loves it every time. There's hope that it won't be totally slow and boring if someone is willing to read it over and over again!

Our kids go back to school after summer holidays next week and the new school year starts all over again. I don't even want to think about it.
I read Gone With The Wind when I was in my late teens and it was a hard slog, quite slow in parts, especially by today's standards. Still I loved it!
Welcome back, I have been watching for a new post. Glad you are back. I do know exactly what you mean about going back to work and finding time to blog, and read. I find myself blogging way too much and leaving things I really should be doing undone. Anyway maybe it will help to know that your absence did not go unnoticed.
Well I can definitely relate to that! The past two weeks have actually been busy in the day but quiet enough to do quite a bit of reading. Yet given the choice between curling up in my chair with a fleece blanket and a cup of tea and reading another book or typing up a review at the computer - the former is winning.
To make it worse, I've now got a "backlog" of books I need to write reviews and summaries for. I'm planning to make some time to day to at least make a dent in these. If you don't see a blog post soon reviewing at least one, I've failed. :)
Discipline is a real bear sometimes, but without it the chance to bless others and to remember/put into practice what we read is near zero. Hang in there, and keep it fun Tabitha! -- Larry
